Located on 385 acres on the wooded banks of Spring Creek just north of Houston and south of The Woodlands, Texas, this complex features amenities such as a wellness center with gardens and nature-themed childcare center, along with multiple low-rise office buildings, a laboratory, conference facilities and parking garages. When completed, it will accommodate approximately 10,000 employees.
The project is a model of sustainability and targets LEED certification. The team includes workplace designers PDR, design architects Pickard Chilton, architect of record Gensler, design landscape architects Hargreaves Associates and local landscape architects Lauren Griffith Associates. LGA was responsible for planting design, selecting native species for the extensively landscaped campus, and specialty plants for themed courtyards. LGA traveled throughout Texas, Oklahoma and the South to tag more than 6,000 trees for relocation to a tree farm near the campus. Managed by Environmental Design, the farm supplies specified trees at the appropriate sizes for the phased implementation of the planting plans.
Lauren Griffith Associates also served as prime landscape architect for the childare center, collaborating with Natural Learning Initiative on the site and playground concept and providing all design development, construction document and construction administration services. T Howard Associates and Gensler provided architectural services.
